Ukraine, Russia | Putin’s pit bull is said to have been tricked around: Pretending to be a Russian journalist

Earlier this week, Nettavisen and several other newspapers reported on Ramzan Kadyrov’s alleged presence in Ukraine, just outside the capital Kyiv. Today, the story of the Chechen leader, often referred to as “Putin’s pit bull”, took a new turn.

The Ukrainian newspaper, First claims that Kadyrov has never been within the country’s border in the context of the war. Instead, he allegedly, according to Ukrainian authorities, was tricked into rolling around. The claim has not been verified by other media.

Initially, the Ukrainian newspaper and the security service in the country are said to have become acquainted with the Chechen leader’s two mobile numbers. Which again is the track to never have been in Ukraine.

According to Danish TV2, the Ukrainian newspaper has used a website that generates a link, which to the recipient looks completely innocent. But as when opened, it reveals the position of the receiver.

This was then sent to Kadyrov via the messaging service Telegram, while the newspaper pretended to be a Russian journalist. This is the same messaging service used by the Chechen leader to spread information and propaganda, but also by the Ukrainian authorities and President Zelensky’s office and several others.

The newspaper is said to have deceived Kadyrov by portraying him as contacting him to write a case about his presence in Ukraine. When Kadyrov is said to have opened the link, his position was also revealed – which was allegedly far away from Ukraine.

1000 soldiers

Kadyrov and the Chechen regime are loyal to Putin. Kadyrov himself is a highly controversial figure, and his militia is accused of several gross human rights violations.

On Thursday night, the always militantly dressed leader reports that 1,000 Chechen soldiers are on their way to Ukraine to fight on the Russian side, writes NTB.

On the Telegram messaging service on Thursday, Kadyrov said that one of his relatives, Apty Alaudinov, “leads a thousand volunteers from the Chechen Republic who travel to participate in the special operation with denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine”, writes NTB.

So far, it has been difficult to confirm or deny many of the messages coming about the war, from both sides. There are still foreign media in Ukraine, but messages from Ukrainian or Russian media can often be difficult to verify.
