Ukraine thinks not only today, but also tomorrow, noted Kuleba

The supply of hydrogen as an alternative source of energy can radically change the balance of power on the European continent, the Ukrainian minister believes.

Ukraine can develop energy cooperation with Germany and take the place of Russia. Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said this at a briefing in Kiev, reports European truth Thursday, September 30th.

According to the minister, now “we are all living on the gas agenda,” but “we need to think not only about today, but also about tomorrow.” He mentioned the supply of hydrogen as an alternative source of energy, which can “radically change the alignment of forces and the strength of alliances on the European continent.”

“In the future, if Ukraine does not miss its chance, then in relations with Germany it can take the place that Russia now occupies when it comes to gas supplies,” Kuleba said.

He considers the supply of hydrogen from Ukraine to consumers in the EU countries “a big political project” and “a very serious instrument of Ukraine’s European integration.”

Kuleba recalled that recently Naftogaz signed an agreement with the German concern RWE on cooperation in the supply of hydrogen to Germany, and four GTS operators from Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic presented a joint the Central European Hydrogen Corridor Initiative.

“It is very pleasant to see how the future is being created today, how Ukraine thinks not only today, but also tomorrow. However, this does not mean that we should fold our hands and silently observe what is happening on the gas market“, – added the minister.

Recall that UN experts believe that Ukraine can produce annually about 5.5 billion cubic meters of “green” hydrogen.
