UK Tightens Rules To Stop Corona Infections Spike

Government English announced new restrictive measures to stop a spike in infections corona virus. The announcement, made on Tuesday (22/9) following a warning from the World Health Organization (WHO) that the new case Covid-19 around the world touched the highest level last week.

The new restriction requires nightclubs, bars and other places to close at 22.00. The restaurant can accept guests to dine on a limited number of places.

Quoting AFP, This new rule will take effect from Thursday (24/9).


This restriction was made when the UK recorded 4,926 new cases and an additional 37 fatalities in a day. Until now there have been 403,551 cases and 41,825 deaths due to corona in the UK.

The new restrictions have drawn criticism from businesses because they are seen as causing more suffering to an industry that is struggling due to the pandemic.

Instead, this new policy has the support of residents of central London. This new move is thought to prevent them from being decided to lock (lockdown) back.

“Not everything has to do with money. It has to be about people’s lives,” Operations Manager Francesca Galluzzo told AFP.

England also canceled allowing sports fans to watch live matches next month. The country also increased fines for rule-breakers under the broad restriction tightening mechanism.

Apart from Britain, a number of European countries have also begun to tighten restriction rules to control the transmission of the corona virus. Spain, for example, re-imposed a lockdown on the city of Madrid by limiting the movement and social contacts of its citizens.

Across Europe, hundreds of major events have been canceled, including the novel award ceremony.

The WHO said 1,998,897 infections were “the highest number of cases reported in the week since the start of the epidemic”. It added that the number of deaths decreased compared to the previous week.
