Taekwondo competitions were opened, in which 124 male and female players participated, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, President of the Emirates Taekwondo Federation, and several heads of the Gulf federations on the first day, 70 fights took place held over 10 weights for the male and female categories.

The UAE won medals (four gold, 11 silver, and three bronze), compared to 16 medals for Kuwait (seven gold, two silver, and seven bronze), nine medals for Saudi Arabia (three gold, four silver, and two bronze ), and five medals for Oman (four gold, one silver).

Emirates gold medals were won in the junior women’s category: Maitha Rashid in the under 44 kg weight, Marwa Zuhair in the under 47 kg weight, Sharifa Ismail in the under 55 kg weight, and in the junior category: Nasser Al Muhair in the subdivision. 49 kg weight.

Today, the Gulf Games competitions continue in five games, including the sailing competition, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, as well as the indoor chess competitions Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, through “quick chess” for teams, and held over two days in the categories under 14 and 18 years.

The competitions will start in the evening, followed by the crowning of the winners, while the blitz chess competition for teams will be held the day after tomorrow, and will end on the same day, then an individual blitz chess tournament on Sunday, after the blitz an individual chess tournament will be held next Monday and Tuesday.

Today, the athletics competitions held at the Dubai Police Officers Club track and field continue. The UAE national team players announced their readiness to take on the challenge of the second day.

The fights will be held for one day at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, and will include 11 weight divisions in the under-16 and under-18 youth divisions.

The UAE national team is represented by 22 players in all weights, with two players in each weight, while the participation of the other four countries varies, as Bahrain participates in two weights , as well as Kuwait, while Saudi Arabia and Qatar participate in more. the two weights in the under-16 and under-18 categories.
