Shanghai, September 26, 2017 – His Excellency Muhannad Sulaiman Al Naqbi, Consul General of the UAE in Shanghai, said that the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in the Chinese city of Hangzhou used “digital fireworks” for the first time in the context of spreading the concept of environmental protection and sustainability. He added in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the UAE is participating in this tournament with 140 athletes competing in 20 individual and team sports, including archery, swimming, boxing and equestrian, pointing out that the city of Hangzhou has prepared for this global event at the best levels, especially in terms of Preparing the infrastructure and providing everything necessary to make it a success, noting that China has great experience in organizing sporting events.
His Excellency stressed that the Asian Games will contribute to enhancing understanding and communication between the UAE and China and will open new horizons for sports cooperation.
