Four people were buried
Two people died in Pernik after being buried during the construction works of the sewage system in the “Khumni dol” district of the city. Two other colleagues of theirs, also in the trenches, were extracted alive. The incident was reported at 2.30pm, the interior ministry announced.

“A mass of earth broke off in one of the excavations. All institutions reacted immediately. An investigation is underway, which will show whether the working conditions were met,” explained Pernik Mayor Stanislav Vladimirov.

A representative of the “Main Labor Inspectorate” arrived at the scene of the accident, who explained that the excavation was 4 meters deep. It was unclear how much soil had fallen on the dead.
The rescued workers are in the “Rahila Angelova” hospital in Pernik, and their conditions are good.
