Two passengers aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship have died of the disease that causes the 2019-nCoV coronavirus, Japanese media report Thursday. It is about a man and a woman, both of whom were more than eighty years old.

29 of those on board would be in critical condition. The origin of the patients concerned is unknown.
621 of the 3,711 passengers on board the ship were infected with 2019-nCoV. There are also five Dutchmen on board who, as far as we know, have not contracted the virus.
The Diamond Princess was in the port of the Japanese town of Yokohama for two weeks. During this quarantine period nobody was allowed to leave his or her cabin just like that. The tourists were allowed to take a breath of air once in a while, provided they kept a sufficient distance from each other.
The Japanese government receives a lot of international criticism of its quarantine policy with regard to the ship. The policy would have delayed the spread, but would have failed.
