Two more health workers died from coronavirus consequences, a total of eleven NOW

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) reports on Tuesday of two health workers who died from the consequences of the coronavirus. As a result, a total of eleven health care workers, all aged between 45 and 69, have died of COVID-19.

So far, RIVM knows that this involved seven employees with underlying medical suffering, while two others are still investigating this. It is not known whether the remaining two deceased health care workers were perfectly healthy before that. NU.nl is awaiting a response from RIVM.

In total, nearly seventeen thousand health workers aged 18 to 69 tested positive for the coronavirus. That is an increase of three thousand employees compared to the last update of April 30. 529 of them have been hospitalized.

RIVM reports that it is not clear whether the health care workers contracted the virus during their work or in the personal sphere. Healthcare workers have also been tested for some time if they only show mild symptoms. As a result, relatively many infections have been identified, according to the RIVM.

So far, 47,739 people in the Netherlands have been infected with the coronavirus. 11,794 infected persons have been admitted to hospital, while 6,016 corona patients have died.
