Two main intrigues of Putin’s meeting with Lukashenko on September 9 named – UNIAN

The topic of the talks will be the continuation of the integration of Belarus with Russia.

Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow today.

Advisor to the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya Franak Vyachorka named “two main intrigues” of this meeting.

“The Belarusian dictator is meeting with Putin. There are two main intrigues: 1) whether Lukashenko will sign a roadmap for integration; 2) whether the Kremlin will provide him with financial assistance. Anyway, let me remind you: Lukashenko is nobody. All signed agreements will be revised,” he wrote he’s on Twitter.

Let us remind you that the topic of the talks will be the continuation of the integration of Belarus with Russia. At the same time, Lukashenka said earlier that deeper integration with Russia allegedly would not deprive Belarus of its sovereignty.

“We are building our ties as two sovereign states,” he said.

Relations of Belarus with Russia and Ukraine

In early September, Lukashenko announced that Russia would supply the Belarusian regime with a large consignment of military equipment – aircraft, helicopters and modern air defense systems.

Before that, Lukashenka warnedthat Belarus and Russia can allegedly change the political regime in Kiev with the help of sanctions, but do not intend to do this yet.

He also accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of training militants and transporting weapons to Belarus.

In addition, he said that Belarus will officially recognize Crimea as a part of the Russian Federation, when “the last Russian oligarch” starts supplying products there. According to him, against the background of the latest actions of Kiev, his hands are free.
