Art Acevedo, the Houston police chief, asked President Trump to “keep his mouth shut.”
–
The comment came during an interview with CNN journalist Christiane Amampour, who asked her opinion on Trump’s recent statements in which the president advocates “dominating” the streets.
–
Art Acevedo replied stating, “Let me say this to the President of the United States, on behalf of the police chiefs of this country: please, if you have nothing constructive to say, keep your mouth shut, because you are putting men and women, who are in their twenties, in danger. “
–
Acevedo also claimed leadership from the president “whether they voted for him or not, he is the president and it is time to be president,” he said, adding “This is not ‘The Apprentice’, this is not Hollywood, this is real life.”
