Two citizens stabbed to death in the last 24 hours in Malanje – Jornal OPaís

Two citizens, one aged 18 and the other 19 years old, were stabbed to death in the Cahala and Vila Matilde neighborhoods, in this city, during the last 24 hours.

The information was provided today, Monday, by the director of the MININT Institutional Communication and Press Office, Junqueira António, who said that the first case occurred in a commercial establishment where the victim was consuming alcoholic drinks with a friend. After a disagreement, the friend wielded a knife and struck the victim’s shoulder blade and biceps, causing him immediate death, ANGOP reports.

The second homicide occurred when the victim and his brothers were challenged on the public street by a group of criminals called “UK”, which led to a fight and during which one of the gang’s accomplices struck the victim’s chest in the chest area, using to a knife.

The officer informed that during the transition from the 24th to the 25th, five crimes of robbery, one of physical aggression and an equal number of theft and threats were reported, the latter occurring in the municipality of Cangandala, totaling 10 crimes, plus four in relation to of the same period of 2022.

He reported that, following the investigation into the crimes described, four people allegedly involved were arrested and a minor was detained.

On the other hand, the director announced the record of two road accidents that occurred in the municipality of Malanje, which resulted in two injuries and material damage to be assessed.

Meanwhile, the Surgery and Orthotraumatology Emergency Department at the Malanje Regional Hospital recorded 60 incidents in the last 24 hours, including 17 cases of traumatic injuries due to a road accident, 15 injuries due to a domestic accident, 10 due to a fall and the same number of injuries due to physical aggression, five cases of abscess in the extremities, two of otitis media and one of an aseptic wound.

The information was given by the head of the emergency department at that unit, Ana Maria Jungo, reporting the record of three out-of-hospital deaths of citizens aged 78, 60 and 19 years old, diagnosed with injuries caused by an accident at home, dental abscess and puncture wound in the chest.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Medicine bank of the same unit had a calmer movement, with only 15 incidents recorded, with emphasis on malaria with neurological dysfunction, severe anemia and hypertensive crisis.
