Berlin / region. Explicitly, it is a two billion euro tuition and social package for the years 2021 and 2022, with which learning backlogs as well as pandemic-related physical and mental stress in children and adolescents are to be cushioned. The parliamentarian also notes that with regard to the age groups addressed, the consequences of the coronas pandemic will occupy us for years to come. Because children and young people are affected by the corona crisis and its consequences in a different way than adults. While they are usually spared the severity of the disease, unlike the elderly and vulnerable in society, isolation, loneliness, fear and boredom have a completely different meaning in their young lives. The stagnant learning situation, lack of living space and social contacts, but also the lack of sports and exercise options hit the children and young people particularly hard ??, states Rüddel.

It is crucial to act now and to leave no child behind: with tailor-made and low-threshold support to reduce learning backlogs, but also to promote early childhood education, for leisure, holiday and sports activities as well as for accompanying children and young people in everyday life and in the school.

?? It is also particularly important to me that civic engagement in local associations and organizations, which is so indispensable for our social coexistence, can benefit directly. We have planned 30 million euros for the German Foundation for Commitment and Volunteering ??, emphasizes the federal politician.

The measures to contain the pandemic, as Rüddel, the chairman of the health committee in the German Bundestag, emphasizes,
?? have left their mark on the souls of our children ??. Not only are schools and day-care centers missing, but also leisure and sporting activities as well as child and youth welfare services:? We want to change that with an extensive action program.

With additional financial resources, also for youth work in sport, low-threshold offers in the areas of exercise, games and sport are made possible for children and young people. The aim is to encourage fun in exercise and zest for life again and thus also the? We-feeling? to strengthen so that all children have access to exercise and health as well as social and societal participation.

With additional volunteer positions in schools but also in sports organizations, a valuable contribution to civil society cohesion is to be made. ?? We support children, adolescents and parents in recovering from the current stresses through a targeted promotion of children and young people’s leisure time in the federal states as well as facilitating family vacation times, ”says the health politician.

At the same time, Rüddel notes that the corona pandemic is also having a full impact on the training market. Overall, the supply and demand for apprenticeships are falling: The Union parliamentary group in the German Bundestag has therefore this year the ?? summer of apprenticeship initiated with and decided to take extensive measures with the aim of securing the training prospects of young people. With this we enable the future of young trainees ?? the skilled workers of tomorrow ?? by helping companies in which Corona apprenticeships are at risk with extensive bonuses.

In addition, the digital career orientation is being expanded in order to bring young people looking for training together with training companies. The local member of parliament also expects that in the upcoming federal-state negotiations, the federal funds will now be used by the states to make existing digital applications usable by many digital initiatives and ed-tech startups and to make them available to schools and teachers.

As the Christian Democrat mentioned, 40 million euros were made available to enable trainees to take additional refresher courses before the exam: ?? We have thus taken decisive steps to stabilize the training market and secure our vocational training system with one of the world’s lowest youth unemployment rates for the period after the pandemic . ??

It is important to use the summer months intensively in order to attract young people and companies for dual vocational training. ?? The summer must also be a race to catch up in the Altenkirchen district for professional orientation and securing skilled workers. Overall, we have enormous challenges to solve after the pandemic. Here the interests of our children and young people will be of particular importance, because they are our future ??, confirms Erwin Rüddel.
