The artist has always called herself “Russian with a French passport”: her father Vladimir Polyakov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, and moved abroad after the First World War. The pilot sang at the Paris Opera, worked for seven seasons in Monte Carlo. Marina’s mother left her homeland in 1919, and in Belgrade she met Polyakov, who was on tour.
Ekaterina Marina Vladimirovna Polyakova-Baidarova is the youngest of four daughters of an emigrant singer. The real name of the actress is not familiar to the audience, because after the death of her beloved dad, she took the pseudonym Marina Vladi.
The actress performed the first episodic role at the age of 11 in the film “Summer Thunderstorm”, where her sister Tanya played the main character. Spinning a romance, breaking into two countries, was insanely difficult, but the couple could not break off relations. In 1970, they came to the Griboedovsky registry office in simple turtlenecks and signed in sign of devotion to each other. Another problem was the infidelity of the bard: Larisa Luzhina recalled how, back in the late 60s, Vladimir came to visit her with her beloved Tatyana Ivanenko, and at night came to the company of Vladi. July 25, 1980 Vysotsky died, and a month later, Marina found his last letter to her. In those lines, the bard assured that Vladi – the only one who was able to put him on his feet, confessed his love and noted: soon they would talk and start a new happy life.
