Twice 15,000 euros fine for illegal party in Montfoort | Inland

The party was promoted via Telegram groups, but the police got wind of it in collaboration with the municipality. A message warned of a large fine if it went ahead. It was supposed to go off on Saturday night.

According to a police spokesperson, “such a large number of people would come that this was undesirable, especially taking into account the corona measures.”

Despite the warning, a handful of partygoers decided to come and have a look at the Mastwijkerdijk in Montfoort. They were asked to leave the site again. They left without any problems, police said. The mayor of Montfoort has imposed a ‘order subject to penalty of 15,000 euros’ on the organizer of the party and the owner of the site.
