KOMPAS. com – Results Tunisia versus France in the preliminary round of group D World Cup 2022 ended with a surprise.

Tunisia managed to beat France with a narrow score of 1-0 thanks to the goal of the captain, Wahbi Khazri in the 58th minute.

The duel between Tunisia and France took place at Education City Stadium, Qatar on Wednesday (30/11/2022) evening WIB.

The goal was achieved thanks to a mistake by Youssouf Fofana who lost the ball when Aissa Laidouni was blocked in midfield.

Laidouni managed to steal the ball and sent it to Khazri. The captain then concluded his dribble in the penalty area with a left foot kick.

France equalized on 90+8 minutes in eight minutes of added time thanks to Antoine Griezmann’s goal.

However, the goal was disallowed by the referee after looking into the VAR (Video Assistant Referee).

Even though France lost, the Blues lead the 2022 World Cup Group D table with 6 points. Meanwhile, Tunisia (5 points) is either in third place or fails to qualify for the knockout stage.

As for runner up or second place in Group D is occupied by Australia (6 points) who at the same time won 1-0 over Denmark.

Australia are eligible for the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup because they managed to beat Denmark with a narrow score of 1-0.

Tunisia made a surprise in the first minutes. Nadir Ghandri’s shot from a partner’s free-kick managed to break through the French goal in the 8th minute.

Since that moment, Tunisia has become more self-confident. On the other hand, France’s rotation had an effect on their performance.
