Emil Kaupers seems to be the quietest of Carnival Youth, as seen in free and captive conversations. The observer adds himself and offers to come to the conversation with the twin brother. No, it’s not because you want to talk about exactly how to become autonomous when you start your life. Whether it’s been comfortable or cold – when your whole life, as far as you can remember, has been full of something strong. The twin ties are something we, the rest of us, can only faintly sense, and yet the wonderful lifelong experience that lies beneath the name.

You could work as a light bulb – I inadvertently tell Emil when we meet. That brightness simply dazzled him. And another moment of deja vu that always derails. Yes, I once suffered a similar blow. I know for a very long time, but easily, that 26 years ago, when a twenty-year-old guy came to meet, he was running a children’s song contest at the time. We were not yet accustomed to his brightness. It was his attitude towards any person he met that was dazzling. He has a band and he and his wife are waiting for twins, Renārs calls him, someone said.

26 years old, born September 8, 1995, twin brother Edgar (Edzis);

Professional work:

group “Giraffes” – nine / ten years old;

band “Carnival Youth” – since the age of 15, continuing to play the drums, brother – guitar, still composed – Roberts Vanags, keys, Kristiāns Kosītis – bass, all – vocals.

It has been 10 years since the first concert (April 20, 2012).

Five albums have been recorded (2 in Latvian, 3 in English).

They have toured in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and elsewhere.

Festivals and showcase conferences in the US, Canada, the UK, Hungary, Poland, Germany and elsewhere.
