The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, will speak in Florida on the evening of April 4, following his indictment in New York. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the office of Mr. Trump.
The ex-president is expected to be charged, fingerprinted and photographed at a New York courthouse on Tuesday afternoon. Presumably, Donald Trump will appear before Judge Juan Mercan of the Manhattan Criminal Court. Mr. Merchan presided over a 2022 criminal trial in which Mr. Trump’s real estate company was found guilty of tax fraud.
The ex-president plans to fly to New York on Monday from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and spend the night at Trump Tower before facing trial, a person familiar with the matter previously told Reuters.
Donald Trump plans to return to Florida after his court appearance and give a speech at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach at 8:15 p.m., his office said. Mr Trump’s campaign declined to comment on what he would say. A source familiar with the matter said the ex-president is likely to focus on what he sees as political persecution and “using the justice system as a political weapon to manipulate elections.” At the end of 2022, Donald Trump filed a bid for the 2024 presidential election.
Trump’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, meanwhile called the indictment “political persecution.”
On March 30, a jury in a New York court issued an indictment in the case of the politician’s involvement in the payment of $ 130,000 to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels.
