Washington – To understand that the data indicates that the United States has passed “the peak of new cases” of coronavirus, President Donald trump plans to present tomorrow, Thursday, guides for states and localities to reopen the US economy.

Trump initially said he has “Total authority” to order the governors a gradual reopening of shops and public activities.

But, since Tuesday, he has transformed that argument into that he only intends to “authorize” the restart of economic and government operations in certain states.

Vice President Michael Pence argued that, in preparing guidelines for state and local governments, they have taken into account that “24% of counties have no reported coronavirus cases and that half of the states have fewer than 2,500 cases.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reported cases of coronavirus exceeded 33,000 on April 10-11. But, they dropped to about 29,000, 24,000, and 26,000 over the next three days.

In the past eight days, more than 15,000 people have died in the United States from the coronavirus.

Trump has been in talks with sectors of the economy and experts, due to his insistence on starting a return to normalcy in May, despite the few tests to detect the virus and the lack of ability to trace the contacts of those infected.

The businessmen themselves have reportedly stressed to him the importance of further contagion testing.

President Trump insisted that they have done “many tests”, although they cover less than 1% of the population, and that it is up to the governors to accelerate that process as well.

According to data from John Hopkins University, at least 27,940 people have died in the United States from the coronavirus. In total, about 620,000 people have tested positive for the virus.

President Trump, on the other hand, said he was satisfied with the decision – which he reportedly responds to his request – to include his name on the federal check for individuals and families. “I imagine people are going to be very happy to receive a fat check with my name on it.”Trump said at a press conference at the White House.
