Immediately after Trump’s boycott notice, the company’s share price fell on the stock exchange, showing what power the president has over the country’s consumers.
Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tire manufacturers. The company is American-owned and has been operating since the beginning of the 20th century.
Trump reacts after an employee at a factory in Topeka, Kansas, posted a viral image that employees could wear garments with slogans in support of Black lives mats and LBGT, while Trump effects were considered unacceptable, writes CNN.
The tire manufacturer points out that their appeal is not aimed at Trump in particular, but that they do not want their employees to flag political views in the workplace, to avoid divisions and unrest.

But a 120-year industrial history does not help when Donald Trump does not get what he wants. Therefore, he will now punish the old tire giant.
Trump’s anger is primarily directed at what he sees as unreasonable discrimination and selective use of free speech, something Goodyear has publicly denied, saying they do not accept any form of political agitation among employees at their factories.
Now he therefore encourages Americans to choose other tire manufacturers and steer clear of products from their new “enemy”.

Trump’s slogan has become one of his most important slogans and hallmarks both during the previous election campaign and in the almost four years he has led the United States. The red caps with Trump’s mantra have become the very symbol of whether you support his presidency.
There are still many who do, although the popularity has fallen sharply after dealing with the corona pandemic. The fact that millions of Americans are now unemployed and the American economy is in its darkest time since the 1930s does not make the situation brighter for Trump.
Need to change tires on the presidential car
When Trump was made aware that he himself drove with Goodyear tires, he announced that the presidential car will henceforth roll on the roads without the logo of the american tire giant which has provided car tires to Americans for many generations.
“From now on, many will stop buying their products,” Trump assures.
