The National Confederation of Truck Owners of Chile (CNDC) issued a statement this Sunday afternoon, where They call on the Government to arrest those responsible for the arson attacks that truck drivers and their families have suffered in La Araucanía.

In a brief statement, the CNDC indicates that “the guild’s main condition is that the perpetrators of the attacks be arrested and prosecuted as soon as possible.”

“The authority knows perfectly which are the radicalized groups and the elements that perpetrate said attacks, so It is not possible to understand why there are still no guilty prisoners ”, they warn in the CNDC.

The last arson attack that caused an impact on public opinion was the one registered at dawn this Saturday that injured a 9-year-old girl, at which time a group of unknown persons set fire to a truck with a load of cement on Route Q-182.

According to the police record, At least four hooded men carrying firearms attacked some trucks that were traveling along the aforementioned road with bullets.

Due to this fact, the Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation for the crimes of attempted murder and arson, while the Children’s Ombudsman filed a criminal complaint for the fact.
