Triplets: Islanders and Castelneuviennes qualified for France

Started on Saturday in Hips, these departmental triplets had not been refueled, due to a few cases of covid. If the men’s table was well provided with 85 teams – twenty more than last year -, among women, they were only 17 (against 18 in 2021). The Sunday survivors had the right to a visit from multiple world champion (14 titles) Philippe Quintais.

The program for the 2022 season

On the women’s side, the defending champions, Pauline Sandou’s AST Châteauneuf, Deborah Rigault, crowned a week before in a head-to-head match at Dreux, and Sandra Pereira won without firing a shot in the final: 13-0 against the triplet of Saint-Prest composed of Rachel Hernandez, Alisé Duchesne and Jeannine Héron.

The Castelneuviennes had cleared the entry ground by beating in the 1st round the 2021 finalists and quarter-finalists of the last French championship, BC Vernois with Delphine Langlais, Prescilia Roussel and Julie Claverie. The AST will therefore represent the “28” on July 16 and 17 in Châlons-sur-Saône (Saône-et-Loire) in “France”.

New for men

The Hips triplet with Sebti Amri (who measures), Miguel Morgado (left) and Richard Diot (right) was eliminated in the semi-finals.

On the other hand, change in the men, since the victory returned to the Islanders Jérôme and Mickaël Gouin, associated with Jérôme Buisson. The Illiers triplet dominated the Mainvillois Mickaël Gautier, David Choisnet and Julien Fricheteau (13-8) in the final. A great performance, because we remember that Mainvilliers had reached the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France for clubs in February.

Previously, the future winners had eliminated, in half, the locals and defending champions Sebti Amri and Miguel Morgado (with Richard Diot). A suprise ? In the quarter-finals, against Saint-Prest, the tone had risen between Hanchois to such an extent that Morgado had been warned for bad behavior. Illiers will defend the chances of the department during the French championships, on June 18 and 19, in Bergerac (Dordogne).
