The collaboration between Nike and Travis Scott is on hold. Air Max planned for December will not be on the market for the time being.

The collaboration between the sporting goods manufacturer Nike and the rapper Travis Scott (30) is on hold for the time being after the disaster at the Astroworld Festival. As the company announced, the start of sales of the planned “Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack” shoes has now been postponed. This is done “out of respect for everyone who has heard of the tragic events […] are affected, “as the US media consistently quote from a press release.

The sneakers were supposed to be on the market on December 16th. So far, Nike has not made any further details about a complete end to the partnership with Scott, as reported by numerous US newspapers. The musician has been designing shoes with the company since 2017.

The first lawsuits have been filed

Ten people died and more than 300 were injured in the mass panic at the Astroworld Festival. Some of the victims accuse the organizers of massive failures with regard to the security concept. First lawsuits against Scott, who was on stage at the time of the accident and allegedly incited the audience, and the initiators are already pending.
