About the Author
Since 2000, Flip has visited the Emerald Belt dozens of times, literally from Sabang to Merauke, or for divers: from Pulau Weh to Teluk Triton. Love for Indian and Indonesian cuisine is passed down from family. Curiosity helped him order recipes served in Indonesia.

The ties that bind many Dutch people to Indonesia stem from the shared history of the Indies and the Indies. More than 300,000 Dutch Indonesians returned to the Netherlands between 1945 and 1968. Among them were the parents of writer Flip and photographer Frick Stoltenberg.
