Travel advice: do not go on holiday to Northern Italy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tightening up travel advice for northern Italy. Due to the large number of coronavirus infections, the Ministry does not recommend unnecessary travel to that region. So that also applies to holiday travel.

Until now, most of northern Italy had the color code yellow, which is now being changed to orange. This means that it is advised to travel to the region only if it is necessary.

The stricter advice applies to Aosta Valley, Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino-South Tyrol, Friuli-Julian-Venice, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Liguria. There are many winter sports resorts in the area, but also major cities such as Milan, Turin, Genoa and Venice.
