Transgender director Daniela Špinar, who has been undergoing gender change from male to female for several months, is trying to spread awareness about what transgender people actually go through. During her narration, she also returned to her childhood, which was difficult for her in many ways. Her biggest support was her sister.
It has been two years since transgender director Daniela Špinar decided to say goodbye to her “old” body and realized that she is not a man, but a woman. She started the transition itself a few months ago and started taking hormones. “I opened the door, closed the door and left the man behind. Suddenly I’m swimming in what’s going on. I found out what the life of a woman actually entails, not only from a practical point of view, but also from the point of view of authority,” said Daniela about the big change in the 13th Chamber program.
A confused childhood
Even as a small child, Daniela was different from other boys in many ways. She certainly didn’t share their passion for cars, tanks or soldiers and instead was interested in dolls. “My sister was like my alibi. I could play with her, play with her toys. I never played with my brother,” said the director, for whom growing up was certainly not easy.
She grew up in a strongly religious family. “The family and the church shaped me in the fact that this is not what a little boy does. The journey to true identity took 20 years,” Daniela confided, adding that her differences were perceived poorly by her father.
Heterosexual woman
Practically her whole life, Daniela lived in the fact that she was, in short, a homosexual man. But only in the last few years did she start to realize that things were completely different. With the realization came great relief. Currently, Daniela is beaming with happiness and joy, and on social networks she brags about how her life has changed. She enjoys women’s clothing and also the breast that adorns her chest.
