Shortly before 2 p.m., this Wednesday, November 24, the SNCF announced a traffic interruption on the Lyon, Bourgoin, Saint-André-Le-Gaz and Grenoble line after a train hit a woman near Cessieu, about fifty kilometers from Lyon.

It was nearly 2 p.m. on Wednesday when SNCF services informed users of a traffic interruption, in both directions, between Lyon, Bourgoin and Saint-André-Le-Gaz. This follows an accident involving a train and a woman.

It was hit near Cessieu, a town located about fifty east of Lyon, by the train making the connection between Lyon and Saint-André-le-Gaz. According to our colleagues from Dauphine Libere, the emergency services could not do anything to bring the victim, who was in his fifties, back to life. The first elements of the investigation suggest a suicide.

According to the SNCF, traffic “should be able to resume around 4:30 – 5 p.m.“.
