Leipzig/Berlin – Despite the short-term cancellation of the rail strikes travelers in Saxony have to be prepared for train cancellations at the beginning of the week.
Deutsche Bahn announced on Sunday that only around two-thirds of the planned long-distance trains will run on Monday. The private providers of regional connections also announced that there could be individual failures.
According to the timetable information, ICE connections between Leipzig and Berlin were affected by the cancellation of long-distance trains.
Canceled trips were also displayed on the route between Dresden and Frankfurt/Main. “From Tuesday, all ICE and IC trains will be back on the road as planned,” announced Deutsche Bahn.

For regional traffic, DB generally spoke of “restrictions and cancellations” that could be expected regionally on Monday. There will still be restrictions in freight traffic on Monday and Tuesday.

Strike on the railways canceled: These companies are also expecting restrictions
The Länderbahn wanted to return to regular operations if possible. It operates the Trilex and Vogtlandbahn networks in Saxony. On Monday and Tuesday, however, there could still be individual restrictions in the timetable offer, the company announced on Sunday.
Work is being done at full speed to change the schedules for staff and vehicles again.
The Erfurt Bahn also expected individual failures. Among other things, the company operates the Gera-Leipzig regional line.

The Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn (Odeg), which is traveling in eastern Saxony, continued to warn of significant delays and possible cancellations.
Warning strike: Bahn and ECG agree to settlement
In contrast, the City-Bahn Chemnitz expected regular operation on Monday. The normal program will be run without restrictions, said a spokesman. The company operates several light rail lines in the Chemnitz region, including to Hainichen, Mittweida and Burgstädt.
The planned warning strike on the railways was surprisingly canceled on Saturday. Deutsche Bahn and the railway and transport union (EVG) had agreed to a settlement before the labor court in Frankfurt am Main.
The warning strike would have led to a two-day standstill in long-distance traffic on Monday and Tuesday, and hardly a train would have been able to run in regional and freight traffic either.
