This time the tragic news hits the world of cycling, which too often is linked to this type of stories. Once again we have to talk about yet another cyclist who died on the road while training. This time This is the young Iñigo Diaz, a 19 year old Spaniard considered among the most promising cyclists of his generation in Spain.

The Basque boy was involved in a road accident, with a car hitting him while he was training with his partner, fortunately but also miraculously he emerged unscathed from the accident. The class of 2004 was immediately taken to hospital, but it was not possible to save him due to the numerous traumas he suffered due to the strong impact with the car.

According to reconstructions, the collision occurred around 5.15pm on Thursday 23 November on a road near the A-3138 motorway, near Alava di Agurain in the Basque area of ​​Spain. The testimonies reveal how the causes of the accident were due to the driver, who apparently remained, losing the vehicle blinded by the sun and that he would therefore not have seen the young cyclist, thrown heavily from the saddle of the bicycle. As mentioned, the boy was promptly taken to the nearest hospital, but he died the following Friday morning.
