Devin Schmidt will be on the ball instead of the controller on Sunday. The gambler from the regional soccer league team FC Sulingen is planning on taking part in the e-football district cup because of the Eldagsen game. He recently won it three times in a row. How he explains his decision and what difference he makes between TuS and FC Sulingen.

Sulingen – “Football and real life always come first,” emphasizes Devin Schmidt. That’s why the FC Sulingen gambler is refraining from taking part in the e-football district cup of the Diepholz football district in Barver this Sunday. The 21-year-old has won the cup in each of the past three years and even came fifth in the Lower Saxony Championship in 2022 with playing partner Luca Feßner. But now the midfield strategist prefers to fight for important points in the regional league relegation battle in the home game against FC Eldagsen (Sunday, 2 p.m.), which takes place at the same time as the Console Cup.

“I can’t judge how good he is on the console, but we are all happy with him on the pitch,” smiles Sulingen coach Marian Pingel: “You can tell that he has already played in the national league. He has a good level of robustness, pushes forward with commitment despite his young age and is increasingly opening his mouth.”

There was also a “bang” at TuS Sulingen

Schmidt, who came from TuS Sulingen in the summer, reports: “At the beginning I was unsure how much I could say. Because at FC the work is completely different. The interaction with each other is very positive. At TuS, on the other hand, things have gotten louder and banged more often in the last two years, which isn’t necessarily meant in a negative way.”

Tuesday’s training went exactly according to Schmidt’s ideas. “If we have the same intensity and volume in the game, I am convinced that we will get three points,” he says. “There was a lot of power and fire in there,” said Pingel, observing the unit: “We will do everything we can to win. Because we don’t want to completely lose touch in the table.” 13 points separate the penultimate team from the first non-relegation place, where Eldagsen is. Gambler Schmidt and FC now want to reduce the gap.
