At least 25 people, including 3 children, have been killed in a fire in the southern Russian region of Dagestan. More than 60 people were injured. Among the injured are 13 children, the Russian news agency Interfax reports.
The fire started at a car garage, along the highway in the Dagestan capital of Makhachkala. How that happened is still unclear. Then the flames spread to a nearby gas station, where two of the eight fuel tanks exploded.
In the end, an area of more than 600 square meters was on fire. Firefighters spent hours putting out the fire. The highway in the vicinity of the gas station is closed to traffic for the time being.
