Being a zookeeper is risky. This time a zookeeper in Mexico fell victim to an attack tiger until he died.
Reported The Sun, Friday (17/6/2022) a zookeeper named Jose de Jesus was pronounced dead in hospital after being attacked by a bengal tiger in Periban, western Mexico.
The moments of the attack were captured on a video. There you can see Jose at first signaling to the tiger from outside the cage fence.
Jose then began to stroke the tiger’s neck. At first there was no suspicious reaction but the atmosphere changed when suddenly Jose’s right hand was pulled by the tiger.
Bengal tiger it tugged at Jose’s hand with its claws. The hand was directed into the tiger’s mouth which contained rows of sharp teeth.
Not long after, there was a pool of blood on the ground. Jose was then immediately rushed to the hospital.
Jose himself refused to have his hand amputated. Even though his hand had been crushed by a tiger.
Jose’s condition worsened as he had diabetes and had a heart attack after this incident.
Meanwhile, the zoo owner admitted that he deliberately spread a video of the tiger attacking Jose to show the impact when the caretaker was negligent. The owner feels responsible for Jose’s death by paying all his medical bills.
The zoo is privately owned. Local media urged authorities to check the zoo’s operating license.
Last month another video showed a lion biting the finger of a Jamaican zookeeper when he stuck his hand into his enclosure. Terrified visitors watched in horror as the man desperately pulled his hand to free himself.
