Tragic! An eight year old girl in Seremban, Malaysia, died after left in the car locked for hours. The girl is autistic.
Due to this incident, a 34-year-old van driver has been arrested in relation to this incident child death the unfortunate.
As reported by the media Malaysia, The Star, Wednesday (13/10/2021), Seremban Police Chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim said the initial investigation revealed that the suspect had picked up the victim and should have sent the child to a daycare center in Taman Nusari Aman on Tuesday (12/10).
“However, the suspect apparently forgot to do that and returned home without realizing that the victim was still in the vehicle,” said ACP Mohd Said.
“The victim remained in the van for three hours starting at 2.30pm and was later found unconscious,” it said in a statement.
ACP Mohd Said said the victim was rushed to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, but was declared dead.
The police received the report of the incident at around 7:45 pm, Tuesday (12/10) yesterday.
ACP Mohd Said said police would apply for a restraining order to investigate the case under Article 31(1) of the 2001 Children’s Act.
A postmortem examination will also be performed to determine the cause of death.
