Body found in front of Obama’s estate – personal chef died in accident
A stand-up paddler has died in an accident on Martha’s Vineyard. The body has now been identified as an employee of the former First Family.

A body was found near the Obamas’ home on Martha’s Vineyard.
It is the personal chef of the former First Family.
Tafari Campbell died in a stand-up paddling accident.
Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle mourn the loss of their personal chef. Tafari Campbell is in the near the property of the Obamas drowned on Martha’s Vineyard island, Massachusetts state police confirmed. A paddleboarder whose body was recovered from Edgartown’s Great Pond on Monday was the cook of the former presidential family. At the time of the tragedy, the Obamas were not there.
Campbell was from Dumfries, Virginia and was 45 years old. Obama and former First Lady Michelle expressed their deepest sorrow at his death. Campbell was a “beloved part of our family”.
“When we first met him, he was a talented sous chef at the White House – creative and passionate about food and its ability to bring people together,” the couple wrote in a statement. “In the years that followed, we got to know him as a warm, funny, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little bit brighter.” So before they left the White House, they asked Tafari if he wanted to stay with them, and he agreed, the Obamas said. “He’s been a part of our lives ever since and our hearts are broken that he’s gone.”
Campbell leaves behind his wife and their twin sons, the Obama couple wrote.
