Traffic, Weather | Three accidents in a short time in Namdalen

Two people are said to have been injured after a car accident on the 770 Foldavegen provincial road northeast of Kveriid on Sunday evening. There are reports of very slippery roads in the area. Rescue is arriving on the spot. The police reported the incident at 9.30 pm. Traffic control center alerted.

– We were informed by the police of slippery roads and contacted the contractor, confirms Lene Fjeset in Vegtrafikksentralen.

Shortly after 10pm, the police reported another incident in the same stretch. The accident must have occurred near Rocca, between Kveriid and Foldereid in the municipality of Nærøysund. A car must have gone off the road. The extent of the damage is unknown.

– There’s a car that has gone off the road. The driver told us he went off the road. The carabinieri and the ambulance intervened on the spot informs the head of operations at the police, Trond Volden, in Namdalsavisa.

Driven into the rock face

On Sunday evening, a car crashed into the Høydalsbukt cliff face on provincial road 17 between Foldereid in Nærøysund and Kongsmoen in Høylandet. Here, too, it should be smooth in place. The driver was alone in the car and got out by himself. The police reported at 9.20 pm that the person in question is awake and is being followed on the spot by the health services. The carabinieri are investigating the incident to clarify the course of events.

There are sub-zero temperatures in several places in North-Trøndelag on Sunday evening, but so far there have been no reports of difficult driving conditions in Innherred.

– For the time being, we have not received any reports of slippery road surfaces anywhere else in the county, says Lene Fjeset at the Road Traffic Center.

No precipitation is expected overnight until Monday.
