Traffic on the Riga bypass and elsewhere is still slowing down

An active construction season continues on the state road network. Repairs are already being carried out on more than 70 road sections and bridges. “Latvijas Valsts ceļi” calls on drivers to take into account traffic restrictions and observe all restrictions.

Also this week, repair works will continue on the Riga bypass A4 (Baltezers – Saulkalne) on the bridge over Mazo Jugla. Traffic with traffic lights or traffic controllers is organized in one lane. On the Daugavpils highway (A6) on Tuesday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 22, the connection of the Bauska – Aizkraukle (P87) motorway to the highway will be closed, traffic will be diverted along Jaunceltnes Street in Aizkraukle, it informs Latvijas Valsts ceļi.

Departure of the Tallinn highway (A1) Saulkrasti bypass can take up to an hour, as three sections are regulated by traffic lights and two others with priority road signs, as well as a speed limit of 70 and 50 km / h. Until the end of this weekend, there will be closed traffic on the exit to Saulkrasti along Rīgas Street (V101) and entry into Saulkrasti will be organized on the road Saulkrasti – Ragana (P6).

There are the most traffic light sections on regional roads – eight are on the Pūri – Auce – Grīvaiši motorway (P96), while the longest repair section is from Ventspils in the direction of Kuldīga (P108) with four traffic light sections. It may take an hour for both to leave.

Major traffic restrictions due to road repairs on major roads:

  • On the Tallinn highway (A1) on the Saulkrasti bypass three traffic light sections and two sections with priority signs, speed limit 70 and 50 km / h. It may take an hour to leave the Saulkrasti bypass.
  • On the Riga bypass A4 (Baltezers – Saulkalne) on the bridge over Mazo Juglu, traffic is organized in one lane with traffic lights or traffic regulators with a speed limit of 50 km / h. Traffic is congested and can take a lot of time on the road, especially on weekday mornings and evenings. The traffic on the overpass over the Daugavpils highway (A6) is organized in one lane with priority signs, speed limit 50 km / h.
  • On the Daugavpils highway (A6) between Skrīveri and Aizkraukle there is one section regulated by traffic lights and the speed limit is 70 and 50 km / h. On Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22, the connection of the Bauska – Aizkraukle (P87) motorway will be closed, diverting traffic along Jaunceltnes Street in Aizkraukle.
  • On the Jelgava highway (A8) in the section from Jaunolaine to the bridge over the Missis, traffic flows along the carriageway in the direction of Jelgava, one lane in each direction. Speed ​​limit in the section 70 km / h. It takes at least half an hour to leave the repair phase.

Major traffic restrictions due to road repairs on regional roads:

  • On the highway Ventspils – Kuldīga – Saldus (P108) from Ventspils to the turn to Zira there is a repair section longer than 20 km and four sections regulated by traffic lights, speed limit 70 and 50 km / h – it must be taken into account that on the road you will have to spend at least 50 minutes.
  • On the road Inciems – Sigulda – Ķegums (P8) in the section from the railway crossing in Sigulda to Jūdaži, one traffic light section and 70, 50 and 30 km / h.
  • On the highway Inčukalns – Ropaži – Ikšķile (P10) in the section from Tīnūži to Ikšķile three traffic light sections, speed limit 70 and 50 km / h.
  • On the Cēsis – Vecpiebalga – Madona motorway (P30) in the section from Vecpiebalga to Inķēnkalns, traffic is regulated in three sections by traffic lights, the speed limit is 70 and 50 km / h.
  • On the road Kraslava – Preili – Madona (P62) in the section from Lazdona to Mētriena one traffic light section, speed limit 50 km / h and half an hour;
  • On the highway Vecumnieki – Nereta – Subate (P73) in a 15 km long section from Aknīste in the direction of Subate one traffic light section and in one section traffic is organized by regulators. Speed ​​limit 70 and 50 km / h.
  • There are one to two traffic light sections and a speed limit of 70 and 50 km / h on the Madona – Varakļāni motorway (P84) in the section from Madona to the bridge over Kuja. The journey can take up to half an hour.
  • On the highway Ķekava– Skaistkalne in Baldone region one to two traffic light sections and speed limit 70 and 50 km / h. The stage takes half an hour.
  • On the highway Pūri – Auce – Grīvaiši (P96) in the section from the intersection with the highway Jelgava – Dobele – Annenieki (P97) to the intersection with the highway Dobele – Krimūnas – Zaļenieki (V1098) eight traffic light sections and speed limit 70, 50 and 20 km / h. The stage takes an hour along the way. Work has also begun on the road to Penkule.
  • On the highway Talsi – Dundaga – Mazirbe (P125) from the turn to Valdemārpils (P126) to Cīrļi there is one traffic light section and the speed limit is 70 and 50 km / h – the section requires less than half an hour.

Repairs have started these days on several regional roads:

  • On the highway Augšlīgatne – Skrīveri (P32) in the section from Ķeipene in the direction of Zaube;
  • On the highway Iecava – Stelpe (P92) from Nīzere to Stelpe;
  • On the road Kandava – Saldus (P109) in the section from Kapukrog windmill to Remte;
  • On the highway Skrunda – Aizpute (P117) in the section from Kazdanga to Aizpute.
