There will be a deficit of chickpeas”, mentions Sylvain Charlebois of the Agri-Food Analytical Sciences Laboratory at Dalhousie University.

The repercussions in several Asian and European countries are likely to be greater than here, but the effects on the portfolio will be felt among Canadians.

“I don’t think there will be a shortage in Canada, but it is certain that we will have to pay a little more”, explains this expert.
