The Dakar Departmental Red Cross will mobilize no less than 200 volunteers to which will be added community relays and neighborhood godmothers in its awareness campaign against the coronavirus, announced its president, Ass Tacko Seck.
“ We must make no less than 200 volunteers from the Red Cross (Senegalese), plus community relays and Badjen Gox who will come and as long as the Covid19 is there, we will continue our mobilization, ” he added. he notably indicated on Saturday at the end of an awareness-raising activity that he carried out in the municipality of Hann Bel Air.
Mr. Seck assured that the Departmental Red Cross of Dakar will continue its awareness campaign to urge the populations to maximize the precautions, in order to avoid contracting the coronavirus.
“ For us, our strategy is to continue raising awareness because if we respect barrier gestures, wearing a mask, the disease recedes. Now for economic reasons and for reasons of survival, we have to deal with it. We will do with it, but by maximizing the precautions to get out of it unscathed, ” he insisted.
Today, he explained, the Dakar Red Cross is raising awareness about Covid19, by changing the paradigm a little because it has realized that there is an absolute relaxation at the level of the whole city of Dakar.
” And subsequently, there is a rise, a great acceleration in the cases of Covid19, ” said Mr. Seck.
“We judged that the communication was not good. We thought it was important to promote a certain solidarity and thus we want to raise awareness by going door to door, ” he said.
We have realized that the cases of death and covid19 are increasing and paradoxically, there is an inexplicable slackening. So there is really something to do, ” said the president of the Dakar Red Cross.
