This Saturday morning, the collective “Bas les masques 31” organized a rally against the wearing of masks by children at school. The participants denounce “physical and psychological effects” and demand a “proportionate relaxation of the health protocol”.
“The mask is a pain! We quickly get out of breath when we move. I don’t want to get used to it ”. Valentin is 8 years old, and he doesn’t want him anymore at school. With his brother and his parents, they were on Saturday morning at Charles-de-Gaulle square in Toulouse to participate in the rally organized by the collective of citizen parents “Bas les masques 31 united to Childhood and liberties”.
“We are not anti-masks,” says Alice. They wish to “question the health efficiency of the wearing of masks by children”, warn about the “physical and emotional harmfulness” and to demand a “proportionate relaxation of the health protocol” in schools. “It has been shown that children and young people have very little contaminants, and that covid-19 is not very harmful for them,” explains Camille, mother of three children. Their well-being comes first. Let them breathe. “

Since the start of Toussaint and the obligation to wear a mask at school for over 6s, she has noticed effects on her children: “a lot of fatigue, nightmares and nervousness”. My daughter has a wonderful school, she is very attached to her teacher and her friends. But with the mask on, she had a stomach ache. When she had the right not to wear it, she was isolated, sitting at the back of the class… She preferred to stay at home. It is a shame to get there because we do not yet know how to measure the benefit / risk ratio of wearing a mask in children. “
