Toulon en Commun: United Front and Priorities for 2026 | PCF, PS, and EELV

“We we are the only ones to fight the National Rally, we are the only ramparts, the only possible alternation.” The ambition is clearly displayed by the three opponents of Toulon in common with a view to 2026.

They present a united front to conquer town hall. “We are even stronger than in 2020 since new forces have joined us. It is an event to bring together all the left-wing parties. La France Insoumise as well as the Republican and Socialist Left have joined us (1). But the strength of Toulon in common, it is its citizen side”rejoices Magali Brunel (PS). “We want to be a melting pot of goodwill, including those outside the left. We address everyone. We can win”adds André de Ubeda (PCF).

Mid-term review

It is especially on its actions since 2020 that Toulon en commun wants to rely to convince. “We are alongside the people of Toulon to make their voice heard”, assures Magali Brunel who cites several examples. Among them, health. “As of October 2021, we denounced the dismantling of the healthcare offer with the project to move the Saint-Roch and Saint-Jean clinics to La Crau (our previous editions, Editor’s note).”

On housing, Toulon in common also believes it is doing its part. “We are fighting in particular alongside the tenants of Beaucaire whose heating costs have exploded or even with the residents of Poncette who are demanding work. This support pays off, it moves the issues forward.”

Among the priorities displayed: education but also investments. “Toulon is the city in its stratum which makes the least investments after Saint-Etienne”, protests André de Ubeda. Without forgetting obviously what makes up its DNA, social and ecology. “In Toulon we need a real transport project, to find nature in the city, to integrate our neighborhoods, and to have decent housing”he concludes.

1. From the beginning, there were the PCF, the PS, Europe Écologie les Verts and Place publique.
