If this shock deserved on paper to be played at 9 p.m., the field did not reveal the same thing. Monegasques and Lille neutralized each other, resulting in a closed match with little spectacle. A poor 0-0 which does not suit anyone from an accounting point of view. Our tops and our flops of the meeting.
Tops
The strength of LOSC
Lille have the best defense in the league, today’s match is the best example. Two lines of four that prevented the Monegasques from being dangerous, especially thanks to a very good side match and an ever-imperial hinge. We would have liked to see a little more the offensive palette of Lille all the same.
Mike Maignan
And this defense would obviously be nothing without its guardian. The former Parisian didn’t have much to do, but he left the parade of the match against Jovetic in added time. Decisive.
Flops
Timothy Weah
The American striker did not have much to eat, except for a few opportunities to start against without however managing to create real differences. His attacking partners did not shine either, but Tim will have less influence on the meeting than the others.
Caio Henrique
Little worried from a defensive point of view, his offensive contribution was however not at the rendezvous. Facing the Lille block, Monaco’s left piston was too imprecise, missing centers and transmissions without succeeding in foiling Celik on the side.
The Last Ten moment
Burak Yilmaz is back. He came into play and played for a quarter of an hour. The Turk did not have time to be decisive but there is no doubt that his presence will do good for a Lille team which is having some offensive difficulties at the moment.
The number: 8
Since their last league loss to Angers in January, LOSC have played ten games. Eight of the latter ended without conceding a goal.
