In ‘The BLVD Podcast’ there is often talk about reality series. For example, ‘De Bauers’ and ‘Ex On The Beach’ are fully discussed in the 67th episode. Which other famous Dutch people would Rob Goossens (33) and Luuk Ikink (41) want to see in a reality series?
“Then I think a lot of people would watch”
The first name Luuk throws on the table is that of RTL Boulevard colleague Nikkie Plessen. “I understand that,” says Rob enthusiastically. Unfortunately, Nikkie will not give an insight into her life anytime soon, they think. “Just not going to do them.”
What Luuk is also enthusiastic about is a series about the lives of Kim Kötter and Jaap Reesema, but in that respect Rob is diametrically opposed to him. “I would welcome it, because then we see what an incredibly boring life those people have.” Rob even dares to say how the series will be received by viewers. “At the end of that series we hate all those names the children have been given and then we just get rid of Kim Kötter.”
According to them, Monique Smit would also be a good candidate. “That could work. I can see it,” Rob says with some doubt in his voice. Rob is less enthusiastic about DI-RECT. “A few of them think: we’re going to make a profit from this, and that’s just going to feel fake.” According to Rob, it is important that people know the camera long enough before they start a reality soap and they have found the perfect person for that: Monica Geuze. “If Monica Geuze would do that, I think a lot of people would watch.”
Someone who will almost certainly get a reality soap is Gerard Joling, according to Rob. “That will just work. It will be a hit,” says Rob with conviction. Gerard has at the time of The farmers also had its own reality series and there is talk of it returning. “It will be different then The Farmers” says Rob. It remains to be seen whether the series will actually materialize and become a hit.
When the men think of celebrities across the border, they immediately think of the Oerlemans family. “Then Danielle can simply be the leading actor.” According to Rob and Luuk, the ‘Oerlemannetjes’ have an exceptional life and experience ‘real things’.
