Apple supplier in Mexico suffers from ramsonware and is asked for millions of dollars in Bitcoin as ransom

Foxconn (TW 🙂 recently suffered from ransomware by hackers that demanded a “ransom” payment in cryptocurrencies. With the attack, the Apple provider (NASDAQ 🙂 will have to pay the criminals about 33 million dollars to regain access to their data.

In addition to its website, the documents and files were accessed by hackers, who requested 1,804 from Foxconn. According to Bleepingcomputer, the attack is related to the DoppelPaymer ransomware, which has already left other victims on the way.

Known for supplying devices to Apple and other technology companies, the attack against Foxconn took place precisely in the office located in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
