For us, “Hereditary – Legacy” is the best horror movie of the last 10 years. At the same time, one of the best horror movies ever!

“hereditary” history
After the death of 78-year-old Eileen, the rest of her family is not as distressed as it should be in such a situation. Only her granddaughter Charlie (Millie Shapiro) was surprised, which was expressed, among other things, in the fact that from now on she always sneaks into the treehouse in the garden at night.
Something’s not right here: At some point, Charlie’s mother Annie (Tony Collette), his father Steve (Gabriel Byrne), and his brother Peter (Alex Wolff) have to accept that as well. But before they find a way to deal with the situation, a sudden catastrophe occurs, which puts the whole family in an unbearable state of shock …
This is why we think that “hereditary” is a great thing.
Even if “hereditary” is controversially discussed in FILMSTARTS comment columns and user reviews, The thriller left us more emotionally drained than any other horror movie. – Above all, of course, the scene in the car with Alex Wolfe’s completely blank appearance, which I am sure I will not forget in my whole life.
The main point of criticism of the “hereditary” for many is the subtle deception of the last third. But the plot is only a means to an end: delivering an incredibly subtle and effective psychological impact that brings the original sins of the family to the surface with all its might, ripping the dirt out from under its feet.
In our opinion, no other horror movie since Stanley Kubrick’s classic “Shining” has been shown with such precision and accuracy!
