Today … “Health” launches an initiative to screen pregnant women in 4 governorates – Egypt

Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health for Public Health Initiatives, said that the initiative to support maternal and fetal health will be launched today, Saturday, in 4 governorates of “Cairo, Giza, Fayoum and Qalyubia”.

“Hassani” continued to “Al-Watan”, the initiative is scheduled to cover all governorates of the Republic within about two months or less.

He added: The initiative includes services for pregnant women to include a basic package of services, such as measuring weight, height, sugar level and blood pressure, as well as vaccinating tetanus.

And Abizaid: The initiative aims to examine about two and a half million pregnant women annually, in about 5,000 pregnancy follow-up clinics in basic care units, and all examination is free.

The Assistant Minister of Health explained to the health initiatives that the maternal and fetus support initiative contains 3 rapid reagents tests for early detection of mother-to-fetus diseases, namely: (hepatitis B virus, HIV / AIDS, syphilis), revealing the addition of Another stage of services that will be added at the end of the year is detection of preeclampsia.

It is worth noting that Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Initiatives, won the first place in the Arab Doctor Award in its first edition, submitted by the Arab Health Ministers Council of the League of Arab States.

The 53rd Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers was held last Wednesday in the permanent headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, in the presence of a number of ministers of member states and Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States, and Dr. Ahmed Salem Al-Manzari, Director WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
