TIROLER VERSICHERUNG: Sales coach makes new customer advisors fit for consultation appointments

In the TYROLEAN INSURANCE all new customer advisors are trained and coached. Among other things, from a sales coach. But what is he actually doing?

Mr. Reinisch, you are a sales coach at TIROLER. What does that mean?
Thomas Reinisch: I accompany our new customer advisors from the first interview, I attend customer appointments and support them until they no longer need me. Career changers especially appreciate this. I give them feedback, help them develop their strengths and improve – not just professionally.

Are you solely responsible for enrollment?
But no! Everyone who starts at TIROLER will go through the two-month basic training anyway – regardless of their later area of activity. Our customer advisors then continue with the sales academy. I accompany you in those parts of the training that are important for the field service. In the job itself, sales managers and colleagues are also available to provide support.

What is your training about? To sell?
It is primarily about advice and specialist knowledge. Our new customer advisors are not dependent on commissions – they work with a fixed salary. The task is to give our customers good advice and to find exactly the insurance they need. This is only possible with active listening, time and the knowledge that I am financially not dependent on the degree.

What requirements do you need as a customer advisor?
Openness, self-confidence and enjoyment of working with people. The rest – i.e. the technical aspects – can be learned.

To person

Thomas Reinisch has decades of experience in the insurance industry and in the field of coaching. He has been a sales coach at TIROLER since 2019 and currently supports around 10 customer advisors throughout Tyrol.
