Tips for Celebrating a Healthy Christmas in the Middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic requires everyone to be extra strict in maintaining their health by implementing it health protocol in the form of 3M, namely maintaining distance, washing hands, and using masks to avoid transmission of COVID-19.

For those of you who will celebrate Christmas, make sure to keep applying 3M to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. The following are healthy tips for celebrating Christmas in the midst of a pandemic COVID-19 , as reported by the CDC website.

1. Wash hands
Wash your hands frequently to help prevent the spread of the virus. Wash your hands with soap and clean running water for at least 20 seconds.

2. Manage Stress
Give yourself a break if you feel stressed, overwhelmed, and out of control. Some of the best ways to manage stress are to seek support, connect socially, and get plenty of sleep.

3. Avoid Alcohol
Avoid alcohol consumption to keep your body healthy and fit. Christmas celebrations with family can run smoothly.

4. Non smoking
Avoid smoking and secondhand smoke. Smokers have a greater health risk from tobacco use, but nonsmokers are also at risk if exposed to tobacco smoke.

5. Get tested for COVID-19
If you are in a crowded environment, get tested for COVID-19 for prevention. An important test is done if you come into contact with or come across a person with symptoms who suspect COVID-19.

6. Prepare Food Safely
Keep in mind simple steps such as washing hands and surfaces frequently, avoiding cross-contamination, cooking food at the correct temperature, and refrigerating food immediately.

7. Eat Healthy, Stay Active
Eating fruit and vegetables that contain nutrients will help reduce the risk of certain diseases. Limit your portion sizes and foods high in fat, salt and sugar. Also, be active for at least 2.5 hours a week and help children or teenagers be active at least 1 hour a day.
