Three youngsters from Bruges were arrested on Friday evening on suspicion of violence against the police. The public prosecutor’s office of West Flanders, Bruges department, reports this on Saturday. Two inspectors from the Bruges local police were incapacitated for work for several days due to the blows.

An intervention team from the Bruges police zone was summoned on Friday around 11.30 p.m. for noise nuisance at the Tempelhof park. A minor was found on the spot who wanted to evade the check. The moment the patrol approached to stop the young man, he would have signaled to his comrades. After all, some other young people suddenly appeared from the bushes. Two inspectors were hit hard.
Ultimately, three suspects were arrested as a result of the incident. Two 22-year-old suspects will be brought before the Bruges investigating judge on Sunday morning. He will decide whether the young men should be arrested. The 17-year-old person involved will be brought before the juvenile judge on Sunday morning. The West-Flemish public prosecutor’s office says that it clearly applies zero tolerance in such cases.
