On Saturday, at about 5 pm, a frontal collision of an Opel car with a Volvo truck took place on the third kilometer of the Liepāja-Rucava motorway, State Police spokeswoman Elīna Priedīte informed “liepājniekiem.lv”.
“Unfortunately, one adult and two children died at the scene,” said Sarmīte Skujiņa, a spokeswoman for the Emergency Medical Service, adding that four medical crews had worked at the crash site.
Traffic in both directions at the scene of the accident was blocked for a long time. Four NMPD brigades, including a team of medical specialists, worked at the scene.
The police continue to explain the circumstances of what happened.
