Three-meter python under the hood. The driver was alerted to the snake by the engine by a warning light

An engine failure light forced the driver of a blue Ford Mustang to look under the hood. Surprisingly, a three-meter-long Burmese python settled around the engine. In the footage, you can see the action of the Florida capture service, whose workers pulled and pacified the animal from hiding. The reptile is likely to be used for educational purposes.

Burmese pythons are an invasive species in Florida that kill local birds, mammals, and even alligators. These reptiles are not protected in the southern United States, people can freely kill them on their lands, and the capture service even encourages them to do so. Local authorities announced in August that they had removed 5,000 of these snakes from the Everglades National Park. Florida pythons usually grow to three meters in length, but this June a piece appeared that measured over five meters.
