Coronavirus in Poland. Michał Dworczyk on a complete lockdown: we do not rule out any scenario

We are doing everything to avoid a complete lockdown, but we do not rule out any scenario – said Michał Dworczyk, head of the Prime Minister’s office on TVN24. – So far, we have managed to avoid it, but what will happen next depends on the number of cases and the dynamics of the number of patients – he added.

On Monday evening, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with representatives of parliamentary clubs and circles. Its main topic was the epidemic related to the increase in the number of coronavirus infections and the actions of the government to limit them. Only the representatives of Law and Justice and the Confederation attended the meeting. There was no Civic Coalition or Left, and the Polish People’s Party was represented by experts.

The government “does not rule out any scenario”

On Tuesday, the guest of “One for One” on TVN24 was the head of the Prime Minister’s office, Michał Dworczyk. Agata Adamek, the host of the program, asked him if the reports that the “total lockdown” was introduced from Wednesday were true. Such an announcement was to appear at the Monday meeting with the prime minister.

– We do not rule out any scenario of course. But when it comes to this hard lockdown, the government is doing everything to avoid such a scenario – Dworczyk replied. “I didn’t take part in the whole meeting, I didn’t hear it,” he added.

As he said, the government is trying to “walk along a narrow ridge, where on one side is the efficiency of the health service and the threat of a complete collapse of the health care system, and on the other side very serious economic problems.”

– We’ve been successful so far. What happens next depends on the number of cases and the dynamics of the number of patients. It also depends on each of us. We also do not shirk our responsibility to a large extent from the government, but it also depends on each citizen and on how seriously it approaches the restrictions, emphasized the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
